BracketMaker.org collects the minimum data needed to operate the site. This policy explains what's collected, how it's used, and how to control it.
Bracket data you create. When you create a bracket, the participant names, format, and match results are stored on our server and made available at the bracket's URL. There is no account; anyone with the link can view and update the bracket.
Local browser storage. Your browser keeps a list of brackets you've recently created (using localStorage) so they appear on the homepage for your convenience. This data stays in your browser and is never sent to our server.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage in aggregate — which pages are visited, what devices visitors use, what countries traffic comes from. Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out via Google's opt-out browser add-on or your browser's cookie settings.
We don't require accounts, so there's no email, name, phone number, or login data unless you choose to send it in a support email. We don't ask for personal information beyond what you choose to type into a bracket (such as participant names). We don't sell or rent data to third parties.
This site displays advertising provided by third-party ad networks. Advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. Ad networks may collect information about your device and your visits to this and other sites to provide ads about goods and services of interest. You can opt out of personalized advertising through the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out page, the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page, or via your browser's settings.
If this site is part of an ad network's publisher program, that network's privacy practices and partner list apply in addition to this policy. Mediavine partners and their privacy practices, where applicable, are listed at mediavine.com/ad-partners.
This site uses cookies for analytics and advertising. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies will not break the bracket maker, though some features and ad targeting may be limited.
BracketMaker.org is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
Bracket data is retained indefinitely so old links keep working — a bracket URL from a previous season continues to resolve. If you want a specific bracket deleted, email p@pwhite.org with the URL and we will remove it.
If you're in a jurisdiction with data-protection laws (such as the EU, UK, or California), you have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we don't collect account data, the main action we can take is deleting bracket data tied to a URL you provide. Send those requests to the contact address below.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of the page. For substantial changes (new data collection, new third-party sharing), we'll note the change above.
